CYBERSECURITY LEARNING, REBUILT

Learn with support.
Prove it independently.

Cybersecurity training built around structured learning, hands-on practice, and reasoning from evidence.

BEST helps you understand what you're doing, practice in authorized training environments, and explain what the evidence supports. Available activities and access are shown in each course.

Enrollment opens soon. Explore the courses to find your next step.

Build understanding. Practice with purpose.

THE PROBLEM

Watching cybersecurity isn't the same as doing it.

You can finish a course, memorize commands, follow a walkthrough, and still freeze when you're given a system you've never seen before.

BEST is built differently.

Instead of teaching you what buttons to click or payloads to memorize, we teach you how to investigate, reason about evidence, test your assumptions, and work through unfamiliar problems.

Because eventually the walkthrough has to disappear.

THE BEST LEARNING MODEL

Training that changes as you learn.

BEST moves learners from structured instruction toward increasingly independent performance.

1

Learn

Understand the concept.

2

Reason

Work through the methodology.

3

Practice

Apply it through guided practice.

4

Test

Work in hands-on environments.

5

Prove

Work toward independent performance.

6

Improve

Receive feedback and targeted practice.

A PRACTICAL WAY TO REASON

The BEST B-CID Method

Baseline, Change, Compare, Interpret, Document: a repeatable way to investigate technical problems and explain what your evidence supports.

1. BaselineRecord what happens before you make a change, including the setup and expected behavior.
2. ChangeChange one thing while keeping the rest of the setup steady.
3. CompareCompare the new result with your baseline. Look at what changed and what did not.
4. InterpretExplain what the comparison supports. Be clear about what you have not tested.
5. DocumentKeep a short record of your setup, change, observations, conclusion, and limitations.

Use B-CID during guided practice to organize observations and build a clear explanation of your results. It gives you a structure to return to when a problem is unfamiliar, helps separate evidence from guesses, and makes your work easier to review.

AI SCAFFOLDING

AI should help you think, not replace the thinking.

Explanations and guiding questions can help you work through a problem without doing the thinking for you.

This example illustrates guided reasoning. AI tutoring is coming soon.

Because there is a difference between getting an answer and developing a skill.

You

I changed the parameter and the page looks different. Does that mean it's vulnerable?

BEST

Not necessarily. First compare the response with your baseline. What changed that you can actually observe?

Scaffold Level: Guided Reasoning

ANSWERS GROUNDED IN WHAT YOU'RE LEARNING

Learning grounded in course materials.

Course materials and cybersecurity references give you context for careful investigation and help you check your reasoning.

HANDS-ON LABS

Eventually, you have to touch the keyboard.

BEST combines instruction with hands-on practice in authorized training environments where you can investigate systems, test ideas, make mistakes, reset, try again, and learn what the evidence actually tells you.

You'll move from guided exercises toward increasingly independent technical work.

THE GOAL: INDEPENDENT PERFORMANCE

Then we take the training wheels off.

Build toward explaining and demonstrating your work independently. Assessment and certification offerings will be announced as they become available.

OUR MISSION

Cybersecurity talent doesn't come from one background.

BEST supports different learners, different paths into technology, and different ways of learning while maintaining a rigorous standard for demonstrated skill.

The standard does not change. The pathway to reaching it can.

ABOUT BEST

Built for serious learning.

BEST Training, from BGH Security, connects structured cybersecurity learning with guided, authorized hands-on practice. Learners build understanding by investigating, comparing observations, and explaining what the evidence supports.

Scaffolding provides support through clear steps, examples, and prompts. Practice activities and knowledge checks help learners identify gaps, track progress, and work toward applying skills independently.

Our Baseline, Change, Compare, Interpret, Document method gives learners a repeatable approach to unfamiliar problems. Support and available activities are described within each course.

BEST Training — BGH Educational Security Training

Stop just learning cybersecurity.

Build skills you can demonstrate.

Learn with structured instruction, guided practice, and a repeatable method for reasoning about evidence.
